About the Massasoit Writers Club

Students interested in writing at Massasoit Community College get together once a week to read poetry, fiction or other, Ousamequin write, and work on the publication of an annual literary journal.

Meeting are held at the ARC in the lower level of the Students Center building.

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to join and/or participate. All are welcome!

This club is a good starting place to learn to give and receive creative criticism. While writing comes from a very personal perspective, students will bring their writing into a public forum, read and critique others’ stories and poems honestly and fairly. The goal is to help students to improve their confidence and skill in writing. The group is building and continues to build on a ‘How To Self Publish’ guide for writers. The club host activities such as poetry readings, reading parties, special events and other programs toward this end including, but not limited to, the publication of a literary journal.

The club accepts writing from individuals associated with Massasoit Community College for publication in its journal, Ousamequin "yellow feather."
